Understanding Adult ADHD

- An introduction for late-diagnosed adults

Overview

This interactive course is designed for newly diagnosed adults in New Zealand who want to better understand their ADHD and learn practical strategies to navigate daily life. Grounded in research from leading ADHD experts like Dr. Russell Barkley and Dr. Edward Hallowell, the course provides essential knowledge about how ADHD affects focus, organization, memory, emotional regulation, and time management.

Through engaging discussions, personal stories, and group activities, participants will gain a deeper understanding of their unique brain wiring, uncover their strengths, and develop personalised strategies to create environments where they can thrive. The course also explores the value of neurodivergent thinking in the modern workplace, especially in the age of AI, and how society’s understanding of ADHD has evolved over time.

Facilitated by Jenny Turner, with lived experience of ADHD,  and expertise in ADHD coaching and neurodiversity at work, this session offers a supportive and empowering space for adults navigating their ADHD journey. Participants will leave with actionable insights, a renewed sense of self-acceptance, and practical tools to improve their personal and professional lives.
